Arrests Made in Assault on Doctor at Kathmandu Medical College

Kathmandu: Nepal Police apprehended two individuals, Rupak Gautam (22) and Saroj Gautam (34), residents of Gulmi currently residing in Kathmandu, for assaulting Dr. Manish Khadka at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal.

The incident, which occurred around 1:00 pm on Sunday in the OPD Department, prompted a swift response from law enforcement. Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of District Police Range, Kathmandu, Kumodh Dhungel, confirmed the arrests.

Following the attack, doctors at the hospital staged protests, suspending their duties to draw attention to the increasing incidents of violence against medical professionals. The assault on Dr. Khadka highlights the ongoing challenges faced by healthcare workers and the need for enhanced security measures within medical institutions.
